🚨🚨Hundreds of propane tanks catch fire in Lancaster; no threat to public

Firefighters battled a large fire Friday afternoon after hundreds of propane tanks went up in flames in a remote area in Lancaster.

The fire broke out in a remote area in the 42500 block of N. 8th Street E. shortly before 2:30 p.m.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, it started as a vehicle fire with a propane tank, but quickly spread to hundreds of tanks.

Crews ran water suppression and let the propane tanks burn off.

Video from an Eyewitness News viewer shows plumes of black smoke in the area.

There was no immediate threat to any nearby communities and no reported injuries, according to fire officials
